Whether your practice has a few staff, or you operate a larger practice with multiple practitioners and a team of practice staff, it is worth investing in a Practice Indemnity Policy.

Our Practice Indemnity Policy is designed to complement an MDA National Member’s own Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy. Our Policy can provide you with peace of mind that the liabilities of the insured business (the practice entity) and your employees are protected in the event of a medico-legal matter, claim or complaint against the entity or the employee. 

What is my practice covered for?

Complement your own professional indemnity by protecting your practice and staff from a growing number of risks and scenarios.

Your MDA National Practice Indemnity Policy covers your practice entity and employees for a range of medico legal scenarios relating the the provision of healthcare services provided by the Practice.

      We will cover you for… Maximum limits and sublimits of indemnity* 
 
  • civil legal proceedings brought by patients (including legal costs)
  • civil proceedings alleging breach of privacy
  • civil liability claims arising out of your involvement in Clinical trials
  • civil liability arising out of notifiable conduct undertaken in good faith
  • the legal costs incurred for all of the above scenarios
  




A choice of a maximum limit of indemnity of $10million or $20 million#
  • Represent you and pay legal costs when you are investigated by a registration board
  • Pay costs you are ordered to pay with respect to covers for investigations and inquiries

  • Represent you and pay legal costs in certain employment disputes

  • Represent you and pay legal costs when you are defamed
 $150,000 (with Excess of $20,000)
  • Defence costs to represent you for Competition, Consumer and Fair trading claims

*Provided that the Maximum Limit of Indemnity is not exceeded.
