AMA Queensland
Supporting Queensland's medical profession together
AMA Queensland sis the state’s peak medical body that provides Doctors:
- Professional assistance including advice on workplace relations and pricing medical services
- Lobbying and advocacy for Doctors, as well as some legal assistance
- Wellbeing support and career coaching
- The Medical Journal of Australia, published since 1914 and now a bi-monthly modern journal

Rural Doctors Association of Australia
MDA National is a major sponsor of the Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA), continuing to provide advocacy and support for our Members who service rural and remote communities, and enhance the quality and frequency of medico-legal education for Australia’s rural and remote doctors.
MDA National and RDAA #DestinationRural Bursary
The MDA National and RDAA #DestinationRural Bursary is offered to seven junior doctors annually, with each receiving $1500 to undertake a clinical placement in a rural or remote community, attend a rural health conference, or attend a skills workshop in a rural town.
The Bursary also supports attendance (including travel, accommodation and/or other expenses) at the annual Rural Medicine Australia conference hosted by RDAA and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
To be considered for the Bursary, applicants must be:
- A prevocational doctor in their intern and/or post-graduate years (PGYs) of Medicine, before undertaking training on a General Practice pathway or another specialist training program
- A member of both MDA National and RDAA and display clear rural intent
