Expression of Interest in MDA National Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group

MDA National (MDA) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Members and community groups/individuals to join its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group (RRWG).

The RRWG will be responsible for the implementation and reporting phases of MDA’s Reflect RAP and will assist MDA on its journey towards Reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

MDA Members who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are encouraged to apply.

MDA National’s Reflect RAP

Reconciliation Australia outlines four types of RAPs which aim to turn an organisation’s good intentions into action and to support the national Reconciliation movement. The implementation of a Reflect RAP helps prepare an organisation to engage in Reconciliation meaningfully. Find out more about MDA’s Reflect RAP.

Structure of the Reflect RAP Working Group

The RRWG will consist of up to 10 representatives, including the MDA RAP Champion, three to four current MDA Members, two to three Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and/or industry representatives, and three to four current MDA staff members, representing a variety of levels and locations. The Chair shall be appointed by the RRWG.

The RRWG will meet quarterly for 90 minutes (in person or via Teams). It is anticipated that the total time commitment for each quarter is approximately three hours.

Selection Criteria

Selection of the successful RRWG members will be based on meeting one or more of the following criteria:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who live, work or have an affiliation with the Traditional lands on which MDA operates
  • Established connections or experience working with Indigenous organisations and communities
  • Commitment to Reconciliation, and/or
  • MDA Member

Term of appointment

Appointment is for the duration of MDA’s Reflect RAP. It is expected that the duration of the Reflect RAP will be approximately 18 months. Subject to continuing to meet the selection criteria, RRWG Members are eligible for re-appointment for the next RAP phase. Members will be appropriately remunerated for their participation in the RRWG.
