Good communication between healthcare practitioners and between practitioner and patient facilitates safe and effective clinical practice. Furthermore, a patient’s satisfaction and assessment of the quality of care received may relate more to their perception of a practitioner’s communication skills, attitudes and behaviours than technical competence.
Our risk management workshops address these fundamental principles of risk management and aim to assist Members in key risk areas such as consent and adverse event management. The workshops provide Members with current, evidenced based approaches to communication and risk management that are practical and applicable to all medical specialties.
