Practical Risk Management
The MDA National approach to risk management is to make it simple, practical and personal. We believe that risk management activities should encourage safety and confidence in medical practice and that doctors themselves are in the best position to select the risk management strategies appropriate to their practice. Our Support in Practice Program (SiPP) reflects this approach by offering a blend of services designed to assist Members manage the risks inherent in medical practice. They can be selected to suit individual Members needs and include:
gplearning
Self-Assessment of Risks
Resources for Risk Management
Risk Management Advice
Workshops
PSS Risk Management Requirements
While participation in MDA National Support in Practice Program is voluntary for most of our Members, we strongly encourage all Members to take a pro-active approach in better managing their medico-legal risks.
Members who are recipients of a subsidy under the Government’s Premium Support Scheme (PSS) are required by the Government to participate in risk management activities. For these Members MDA National has developed a range of options which recognise individual practice circumstances and the fact that many of our Members are already participating in risk management activities as part of their professional obligations.
