2007 Essay Competition Winners Announced

James EnglishThis year we received close to ninety entries for the 2007 MDA National Elective Essay Competition where entrants addressed the essay question "Part of your journey as a medical student in Australia involves undertaking a medical elective will be a valuable experience in the course of becoming a medical practitioner." In late September, we were pleased to announce the winners:

First prize: $2,000 Bursary: James English, University of Queensland undertaking his elective in Manali, India.

First runner up $1,000 Bursary: Grace Vivian, UWA undertaking her elective in India & Madagascar.

Second runner up $500: Abhishek Verma, UNSW undertaking his elective in England.
