MDA National Insurance’s Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy provides you with up to $20,000,000 protection against civil liability claims arising from: The provision of healthcare services including Good Samaritan Acts, Reporting an incident or healthcare practitioner to a professional body (whistleblower protection).
A sub limit of $500,000 in the aggregate applies for defence costs and costs orders arising out of investigations and inquiries such as: Medical Board investigations, Allegations of sexual misconduct and criminal matters, Disciplinary proceedings.
A sub limit of $150,000 in the aggregate applies for defence and legal costs arising out of: Alleged breaches of the Trade Practices Act 1974, Certain employment disputes, Seeking an Apprehended Violence Order.#
The Policy takes into account situations you may encounter as your career develops and changes, the Policy extends to cover circumstances such as: Surgical assisting, locum postings and private work generating up to $250,000 in billings.* Breaks-in-training, Short term overseas practice (excluding the US and its territories and subject to Underwriting approval), Volunteer work.
