Associate Professor Andrew Keegan MBBS, BSc (Med), PhD, FRACP, AGAF - (Chair)


Assoc Prof Keegan is a visiting Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist at Nepean Public and Private Hospitals. He is a past President of AMA (NSW), more recently the Chairman of AMA (NSW) Hospital Practice Committee and has been a member of AMA (NSW) Council since 1999.

He is Adjunct Associate Professor in the Sydney Medical School Nepean, University of Sydney.

Assoc Prof Keegan graduated BSc(Med) 1978, MBBS 1980 and PhD 1994 from the University of Sydney. In 1988 he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and in 2008 a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. In addition he is Vice Chairman Nepean Hospital Medical Staff Council and member of the Gastroenterology Executive of the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation.

 

Dr Elizabeth Feeney MBBS, MHL, FANZCA, GAICD


Dr Elizabeth Feeney is a Specialist Anaesthetist in private practice in Sydney. She is currently President of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and on the Board of AMA (NSW). It was during her time on the NSW Law Society’s Medico-Legal Liaison Committee that she undertook the Masters in Health Law. Dr Feeney believes that the profession’s input into health policy is vital to ensure the safe integration of new technologies, preventative strategies and the changes in health care delivery that are currently being undertaken

 

Dr Maria Li MBBS (Hons)


Dr Maria Li is a General Practice Registrar currently completing her hospital training years. She graduated from the University of New South Wales and clinically she has interests in Ophthalmology, Emergency Medicine and the medico-legal dimension of medical practice. Dr Li hopes to be engaged in all these areas while enjoying General Practice.

 

Dr David Malouf MBBS, FRACS (Urol) Sydney


Dr David Malouf graduated from University of Sydney. He completed his Urology training in Sydney and specialised in Surgical Oncology and Renal Transplantation during a Fellowship year at London’s Hammersmith Hospital.

He is President of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and past Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Urological Surgeons. He is a Director of the British Journal of Urology International.

He is a clinical teacher at the University of New South Wales, a VMO at St George and The Mater Private Hospitals.

 

Dr Brian Morton MBBS, FRACGP, FAMA


Dr Brian Morton graduated from University of NSW and is a GP in Sydney. In 1981 he was awarded a Fellowship of the RACGP. He is a panel member of the Professional Services Review and a member of Medicare Participation Review Committee. He is a clinical teacher in General Practice at Sydney University.

Dr Morton was a Past Chairman of the Northern Sydney Division of General Practice.  He is currently President of AMA (NSW), an AMA Federal Councilor and Deputy Chair of the AMA Council of General Practice.

 

Dr Saxon Smith MBChB, MHL, MAICD


Dr Saxon Smith graduated from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2000 and also holds a Masters Degree in Health Law from the University of Sydney.

Since internship he has worked at various hospitals in New South Wales and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and as a clinical researcher in Dermatology at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital. He has several publications in areas including: Ethics; Medico-legal issues; Health Policy; Paediatrics and Dermatology.

He is currently a Dermatology Registrar at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
